Hi my name is Adi Oren, and I am a Professional makeup artist who has recently relocated to Singapore. I am originally from Israel and have not long ago moved to Singapore with my family after having lived in Bangkok for the past 4 years.

As part of my relocation (which I believe as foreigners perhaps most can relate to) I found out very quickly that my life has been divided into a life before Thailand and after Thailand. In Israel I had a great job. I worked in a Hi-Tech field in a very successful company.

 

When we moved to Bangkok I looked for a new job in a field related to my previous job but It didn’t take a much time for me to understand that there were 2 major problems: firstly, I don’t speak Thai. Secondly, Thailand in terms of culture is very different from western culture.

As time went on I found myself trying all kinds of new things, things that I would never have dreamt of before my relocation.

I went to dance classes, cooking classes, you name it – I have done it! I must say it was a wonderful experience to try new things and get to know people from all over the world. Some would say “live the dream”.

During that period a friend of mine told me about her intentions to go to makeup school and asked whether I would like to join.

At the beginning I thought “why not?”.

I didn’t understand what or where this experience was going to take me in life, and then I found myself in an international academy with the best teachers from the states and Europe.

I studied for one year from morning until evening every single day. Along with very talented students from all over the world who come with references, I was one of them without any previous experience in that subject.

During my time at the makeup academy I learned all types of makeup such as: Thai / Indian / Western bridal Film / TV makeup Theatre / Special effects / Mature / Old makeup / Day and Evening makeup. Teenage makeup Fashion / Stage makeup History of makeup As time went on and I got my diploma I began to teach and work in a brand new world that was very new to me. I gained a lot of knowledge in makeup which I want to share with others for the following reasons: 1. For those of us who have relocated to new a country and are finding the change difficult – don’t give up on yourself!! 2. Never say never – in school I was never the artsy girl who drew and painted!

3. Try, try and try again – Try everything!!! Even if you think it’s not the type of courses the you bond with. Hey, you get the opportunity to take a break for a year or two or more. Do whatever you have always dreamt of or didn’t even think you could dream of. 4. Sharing is caring- I recently opened my first makeup studio here in Singapore and I have lots of tips I would like to share with you. (Makeup Lessons) For that reason I decided to open a one on one workshop.

Then this is the workshop for you! In my workshop you will learn which colours suit you, your skin tone, and skin type. You will also learn how to apply the makeup look you desire using the correct products and brushes. My one-to-one lessons are based on the “half face” method. Demonstrating each stage, step by step on half of your face. I then guide you on the best way to apply the make up using all the techniques you have just learnt. I ask that you bring your makeup bag and brushes with you, then we can try and include some or all of your products in the makeup look that we create together. At the end of your makeup lesson, I will give you a list of the products and tools i have used to create the look, and also some personal recommendations.
